Hayes Cofell Performance Horses is owned and operated by Jess Cofell and Lindsay Hayes-Cofell. 
Jess grew up riding and showing horses of all breeds and all disciplines under the tutelage of his parents, Doug and Cathy Cofell. He apprenticed under Peter Van Eerd for a number of years as well as extending his knowledge as an assistant reining trainer in Minnesota and Italy.
Jess started Cofell Performance Horses in 1995 and has been actively training, showing, shoeing and coaching for the last twenty years.  He has earned numerous Ontario titles with the Ontario Reining Horse Association, Ontario Quarter Horse Association and with Reining Canada.  Jess has also earned three Top Ten NRHA World standings.  His NRHA lifetime earnings exceed $67,500. 
Jess' students and horses have gone on to earn countless honours including pronvincial, national and world titles as well as placings at notable shows including the All American Quarter Horse Congress and the North American Affiliate Finals. 

Lindsay grew up taking riding lessons and working in a local lesson barn as a camp counselor and group lesson coach. 
After highschool she attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre.  Lindsay majored in Western riding lessons and took Equine Science classes including: Horse Health, Horse and Barn Care, Riding Theory, Western Showing, Dressage Showing, Classical Dressage Riding and Training.  Lindsay became certified in Teaching and in Equine Massage Therapy while at Meredith Manor, gtraduating with Honours and on the President's List.  She also took an Equine Thereogenology course through Ohio State University. 
Upon graduation, Lindsay held a job as an assistant trainer at two prominant breeding and training facilities in Southwestern Ontario.  She then worked as a business manager, head coach and camp director before starting on her own as Hayes Horsemanship in 2007. 
Under Jess' guidance, Lindsay has earned multiple Ontario Reining Horse Association Year End Championships, qualified for the Eastern Canadian Affiliate Finals in multiple classes and was Champion for the Rookie Professional division in 2012 with Genzanit.  Lindsay's success with Genzanit continued to a Top Ten NRHA World standing and multiple exciting performances including the Evolution of the Horse at the All Equine show in London, Ontario and the Dressage vs. Western; Denim and Diamonds event at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.   
Jess and Lindsay were married in 2014, and after a number of years running their businesses cohesively, merged into one business, Hayes Cofell Performance Horses.
